The 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) will include new safety technology that will help protect those that protect us. Although these safety features are already offered on a range of Chevy vehicles, they are new to the Tahoe PPV model.
Chevrolet’s Enhanced Driver Assist Package is the first package designed for a pursuit vehicle and includes five advanced safety technologies. The technologies are as follows: Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Safety Alert Driver Seat, and Power Adjustable Pedals. The first two features will help prevent or mitigate front-end collisions, and the third will help prevent accidents related to drifting out of or changing lanes. This advanced safety system can be configured to alert the driver in various ways, and the adjustable pedals will help keep the driver comfortably in control. As Ed Peper, the U.S. vice president of GM Fleet, stated, “We want to protect our protectors and help them get home safely at the end of every shift.” These innovative technologies will help Chevrolet meet this goal.
The advanced safety features of the Chevrolet Tahoe PPV are also offered on many other Chevrolet vehicles, in addition to technologies like the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System.
