According to a recent study commissioned by Chevrolet, Americans want to spend more time with their families and visit fun, new places with them. That is why Chevrolet asked data scientist Randy Olson to create an epic family road trip that travels through each of the 48 contiguous United States.
The path makes one stop in each state at a well-known landmark like the Grand Canyon, Disneyland, and Yellowstone National Park. Olson also minimized back-tracking to make the trip as efficient as possible.
“This map is designed so road trippers can start anywhere and drive as much or as little as they like,” said Olson. “Across the US, people can create their perfect route, whether staying close to home or embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime 48-state journey.”
If you were to take this journey from end to end, you would add 13,389 miles to your odometer and spend more than 214 hours (about nine days) in the car without including overnight stays.
If this road trip is too much for you, Olson also put together a few shorter, regional trips including one for the Midwest, which you can start right here in Indianapolis.
We think the perfect vehicle to tackle this fantastic trip would be the Chevrolet Equinox. It has the technology to keep the whole family connected while out on the road. If you’re interested in taking a road trip this summer, you can find the Equinox here at Stanley Chevrolet.
